Car hire is not necessary. Local bus stops 2 minutes from the apartment and will take you to Gran Plaza shopping centre, Aquadulce, Almeria, El Ejido. A walk along the promenade in one direction takes you to the large urbanisation with large hotels, bars and restaurants. A walk in the other direction takes you to the marina of Roquetas with its many beachside bars and fish restaurants.
Mario Water Park is open mid June to early September. There is a sealife aquarium close to the water park.
